Marko doesn't mince his words: "FIA intervenes in a manipulative way"

Helmut Marko utters strong criticism of the FIA. The motorsport boss of Red Bull Racing is not happy with the motorsport organization's shortening of the DRS zones. The Austrian even goes so far as to say that this is a deliberate attack of an area where Red Bull has a huge advantage.

The RB19 is praised for its highly effective DRS system, but according to Marko, the FIA wants to limit that effectiveness by shortening the DRS zones - as has happened in Baku and Miami. "Overtaking has always been difficult. So if the DRS zones are shortened, you know why," the Austrian said to Motorsport-Magazin.com. "They need to stop trying to intervene in such a manipulative way."

Mercedes can also count on criticism from Marko. The German racing team has often complained about the dominance of Red Bull, and Marko is not happy about it. "It's amazing that Mercedes is upset. They had such a superior engine for years and were much further ahead than we are now. If you have a flop with the car two years in a row, you should focus on that," he said.
